Project Parivartan

Goal
Sex workers from red-light areas will have freedom from sexual exploitation and be empowered for sustainable alternate livelihoods in a safe and supportive ecosystem.
Thousands of women are deceived and trafficked into red-light areas, becoming victims of modern-day slavery. Treated like property, they are sold and traded by pimps and brothel owners. Many of these women come from very poor families and lack education and skills, which keeps them trapped in the cycle of trafficking. They face sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, leading to addictions, poor health, and abusive relationships, further limiting their chances of escaping this harsh reality.
Project Parivartan works to break this cycle by helping women rebuild their lives and gain the skills they need for a better future. We prepare Individual Reintegration Plans (IRPs) to guide each woman personally on her journey to recovery and reintegration. The project conducts various awareness programmes on their rights, health, hygiene, managing money, child safety, and building healthy relationships. Counselling and mentoring sessions are also provided to help women heal emotionally and grow stronger.
To equip them for new livelihoods, the project offers adult literacy classes, pre-employment training, and vocational training. It also helps women find suitable jobs and supports those who wish to start small businesses.
Project Parivartan seeks to help women gain freedom from exploitation, and build skills and confidence necessary to live independent and dignified lives, full of hope and opportunities.
Total Number of Participants: 386 women served in 2024-25
